LAKSHADWEEP
One of world’s most spectacular tropical island systems, Lakshadweep is tucked away at 220-440 kms off the Malabar Coast. The unique feature of the islands is its coral reef, making it a pristine leisure spot to come back to. 4200 sq. kms. of lagoon , rich in marine wealth, is spread over 36 islands in an area of 32 sq. kms.
How To Reach: The Lakshadweep group of islands are well connected both by air and sea. It can be reached by a 1 ½ hr flight from Cochin International Airport. While islands like Agatti and Bangaram can be reached by air, Minicoy and others are Accessible by ship from Cochin which takes about 18 hours.
Whan To Visit: The climate of Minicoy is warm round the year, however September to May is ideal for a visit toMinicoy.
Entry Formalities: All visitors to Lakshadweep are required to obtain an entry permit. Society For Promotion Of Nature Tourism And Sports arrange the permit. They require following details to obtain the permit: Indian Nationals-Name, Address, Date and Place of Birth.
